Protect Your Little One from Monsoon Mosquitoes

Keep dengue, malaria & chikungunya away with safe mosquito protection tips

Monsoon brings relief from summer heat, but also increases mosquito-borne diseases like dengue, malaria, and chikungunya. Young children are especially vulnerable due to their developing immunity.

**Safe Protection for Babies & Toddlers:** Avoid chemical repellents on babies under 2 months. For older babies, use pediatrician-approved mosquito patches or natural repellents with citronella. Dress your child in light-colored, full-sleeved cotton clothes during peak mosquito hours (early morning and evening). Install fine mesh screens on windows and use mosquito nets over cribs and sleeping areas—ensure nets are tucked in properly with no gaps.

**Around the Home:** Empty all water containers, flower pots, and coolers weekly. Check for hidden water accumulation in toys, buckets, and AC trays. Even a bottle cap of water can breed mosquitoes! Consider using mosquito-repellent plants like tulsi, lemongrass, or marigold near entrances.

**Watch for Warning Signs:** If your child develops sudden high fever, rash, excessive crying, or refuses to eat during monsoon, consult your pediatrician immediately. Early detection of mosquito-borne illnesses is crucial.

Remember, prevention is always better than cure. A mosquito-free home means a healthier, happier baby!
