Monsoon Laundry Tips for Your Little One

Keep your child's clothes fresh, dry and germ-free during humid monsoon days

During monsoon, drying clothes becomes a real challenge for parents. Damp clothes that don't dry properly can harbor bacteria, fungi, and that musty smell - all harmful for your little one's sensitive skin.

**Smart Drying Tips:** Always dry clothes indoors in a well-ventilated room. Use a fan or dehumidifier to speed up drying. Iron clothes even if they feel slightly damp - the heat kills germs and removes remaining moisture. For babies under 6 months, sun-drying (even brief filtered sunlight through windows) is ideal as UV rays are natural disinfectants.

**Washing Do's and Don'ts:** Add a cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle - it prevents fungal growth and removes odors naturally. Avoid overloading your washing machine as clothes need space to rinse thoroughly. Use hot water when possible for baby clothes, especially cloth diapers and towels. Always wash new clothes before first use.

**Storage Matters:** Never store even slightly damp clothes in cupboards. Keep a few silica gel packets in your child's wardrobe to absorb excess moisture. If clothes smell musty, rewash them with a bit of dettol or savlon added to the wash - don't let your child wear them as is.

Remember, your child's skin is delicate and more prone to rashes and infections during monsoon. Clean, properly dried clothes are your first line of defense!
