Keep Little Feet Happy This Monsoon
Prevent fungal infections and keep your child's feet dry and healthy in rainy season
During monsoon, our little ones' feet are constantly exposed to puddles, wet floors, and damp footwear - a perfect recipe for fungal infections and skin problems. Babies and toddlers are especially vulnerable as their skin is delicate and they love splashing in water!
Start by drying feet thoroughly after every bath or rain exposure, especially between the toes where moisture hides. Use a soft, separate towel just for feet. Apply a light dusting of antifungal powder (ask your pediatrician for baby-safe options) if your child's feet tend to sweat. For babies still crawling, keep floors dry and clean.
Choose open-toed sandals over closed shoes when possible, and always have a spare pair at home. Crocs or jelly sandals dry quickly and work wonderfully. Avoid keeping children in wet socks or shoes for long - fungal infections like athlete's foot thrive in damp conditions. If you notice redness, itching, peeling skin, or a bad odor, consult your pediatrician immediately.
Before bedtime, wash feet with gentle soap, dry well, and apply a thin layer of coconut oil or baby moisturizer. This simple routine prevents both dryness and infections. Remember, healthy feet mean happy, active toddlers ready to explore their world - rain or shine!
